It occurs along the coastal area in Karunagapally Taluk of Kollam district, Kerala, comprising 22.5 km length extending from Neendakara (8 56′03″ N and 76 32′34″ E) in the south to Kayamkulam (9 8′24″ N and 76 27′36″ E) in the north, and width ranging from 200 to 300 m.
